Anne Rasmussen is a junior libero on the volleyball team from Oak Creek, Wisconsin, majoring in kinesiology and sport science.

Austin Lammers: What’s the best remedy for court burn?

Anne Rasmussen: Being a libero, I definitely get a lot of those, but most of the time it’s just toughing it out. Otherwise, our trainer Jenna puts a little remedy on it and tapes it so it doesn’t get worse.

AL: What’s the most difficult type of dig for you?

AR: I would say any middle attack or quick attacks are pretty difficult because you don’t have a lot of time to react and you just have to make a play. It’s not always going to be the prettiest, or like a perfect egg, but they’re also fun to see how good of a touch you can get on it.

AL: Who on the team would you least want to receive hits from?

AR: Taylor (Wilson)’s slide-shot down the line is my least favorite to have to dig. She just hits them so hard and it’s a difficult ball to dig.

AL: Does your team do anything to get hyped before games?

AR: Definitely a lot of singing and dancing. And before every match, we play Catch Phrase as a team so we’re focused and ready to play.

AL: Which is worse: South Dakota winters or Wisconsin winters?

AR: I think they’re both equally as cold but South Dakota does have that wind factor that makes it worse than the Wisconsin winters.
